My grandfather, John Thurmond and my grandmother, Louise Thurmond, in Tucson Arizona established T-Aircraft in 1951. One of my first memories is my Grandfather taking me flying in his cherished INF Waco. He was one of the first to establish the Arizona Chapter of the Antique Airplane Association. My Grandpa was often told he was living in the past because of his collection of Antique barn stormers and his having restored a number of Waco’s, Steersman, Travel Airs and many other airplanes for many proud aviators throughout the country.

John has serious health problems and is now living near some of his daughters in Arizona. We at T-Aircraft have been given the responsibility of selling some of his prized possessions in order to keep up with his needs.

My Grandfather loves airplanes. He has the passion so many of us have for the feeling of wind in our face and flying with the birds. These items are very hard for us to sell. We hope and pray the items that are sold go to loving hands, which will enjoy them and take special care of them. We have found it ever so difficult to sell one thing and keep another. We have also found the Antique Aviation community to have two different types of people, those who will go out of their way to say hello and help, and those who will pretend to help and than take advantage of you. We believe this is a new development in this society as people become more and more desperate to get what they want. We hope to do business with those who abide by the code of the aviator and try as hard as they can to “Keep The Antiques Flying”.
