April 8th 2005 - Grandpa John Thurmond has "Gone West". He passed away peacefully with some of his family in Prescott Arizona. Services were held at the Animas New Mexico Cemetery where he was laid next to his beloved wife Louise and two sons Grant and Johnny. All of John's surviving children along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and dear friends attended the service. Grandpa has left his mark on the Antique Airplane community forever and will be sorely missed by many. We know Grandpa is in a happier state, with his wife, children and many others; soaring with the clouds above and "Touching the face of God". We will Miss you Grandpa...
