SZEKELY
- HOLLAND |
|
SZEKELY - HOLLAND ENGINE / ID TAG INFO: “Pat Pending
A.T.C. No. 70 HP.45 R.P.M. 1750 Max Speed R.P.M. 1825,
Final Test Date 4-22-1931” This little engine has
taken a lot of slack in its day, but resumes to be one
of the neatest sounding engines out there. The Szekeley
(pronounced Say-Kai) 45-horsepower SR-3-0 three cylinder
engine received ATC A-434 on July 9, 1931. Some 17 of
these engines were built, and sold well despite the great
depression. Built in Holland Michigan, this engine was
mainly built for use in the Curtiss Wright CW-1 Junior
as a pusher motor. My Grandpa had plans to use it in one
of his old Aeronca C-3, but sold them before he could
do so. This motor looks to be in excellent shape considering
its age. The mandatory cylinder safety wire is still in
place. The prop hub will also be sold with this engine
as well as the engine mount. We do have some paper work
for this engine. Email for pricing and conditions. |
